Around 16,000 ha. of land across three sites in North Kalimantan are maintained for growing palm, with about 50% under cultivation.
Both crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernels are produced and shipped to customers in Indonesia. The CPO is produced by squeezing the flesh of the fruit in mills. Up to 35,000 to 40,000 tons of CPO are produced per month. The palm kernel pulp left, after the oil is rendered, is often burned to generate electricity in the surrounding districts. Around 3,000 to 4,000 tons of palm kernel are produced.
