The Bebatu mine is a 3,008 ha. site located 50km by river north west of Tarakan, Kalimantan.
Mining started in 2006 and approximately150,000 tons of coal are hauled each month to the 20 ha. stockpile and stock ROM area, processing plant and jetty on the Sesayap river.
The coal grade is sub-bituminous and inter-seam blending is undertaken at the processing plant to obtain the blending ratio contracted.
